Welcome to the Eyeris Eyecare Friends with Benefits Patient Appreciation Program! The more you look after your eyes, the more we look after you. By participating in our rewards program, you agree to the following guidelines and rules:
The Ground Rules
In-Office Redemptions Only: To protect your prescriptions and inventory, all accumulated points must be redeemed face-to-face at our clinic during your order checkout. Points cannot be redeemed for online orders or converted into automated web store discount codes.
Earn on Out-of-Pocket Product Purchases: Points are accumulated at a rate of 1 point for every $1 spent strictly on the out-of-pocket, retail product portion of your purchase (including frames, prescription lenses, lens coatings, non-prescription sunglasses, and annual supplies of contact lenses).
The Fine Print
1. Exclusion of Professional & Clinical Services
In compliance with the bylaws set forth by the Manitoba Association of Optometrists (MAO) and the Opticians of Manitoba (OOM), points are never earned on, nor can they be applied toward, professional clinical healthcare services. This strictly includes comprehensive eye examinations, partial or urgent eye exams, progress checks, and contact lens fittings or evaluations.
2. Exclusion of Government & Public-Funded Programs
Points can only be calculated from and applied to the portion of a transaction paid entirely out-of-pocket by the patient. In accordance with provincial healthcare laws, no points will be awarded or redeemed on any portion of a product or service covered or paid for by:

Manitoba Health (Provincial Insurance)

Employment and Income Assistance (Manitoba Social Allowance)

The federal Non-Insured Health Benefits (NIHB) program

Any other public, municipal, or government-funded healthcare assistance program
3. Third-Party Private Insurance
For patients utilizing private third-party health insurance (e.g., Manitoba Blue Cross, Canada Life, Sun Life), points will only be issued for the final out-of-pocket balance paid directly by the patient at checkout (such as deductibles, co-pays, or overages). Point allocations cannot be calculated based on the total direct-billed insurance payout portion.
4. Account Inactivity & Point Expiration
Your points belong to you as long as you remain an active patient with our practice. To mirror the healthy 2-year optical exam and product lifecycle, points will expire after 24 months of total account inactivity. Account inactivity is defined as a consecutive 24-month period with no recorded retail product purchases or verified clinical visits at Eyeris Eyecare.
5. Returns, Exchanges, and Cancellations
If an item or lens order is returned, canceled, or refunded, any loyalty points earned from that specific transaction will be automatically deducted from your account balance. If points from that transaction were already redeemed for an in-office credit, the monetary value of that reward will be deducted from your final refund amount.
6. General Terms
Points are non-transferable, cannot be combined across separate households, and hold no cash or cash-equivalent value. Eyeris Eyecare reserves the right to modify, adjust, pause, or terminate reward tiers, point values, or promotional growth actions at any time without prior notice, ensuring ongoing alignment with provincial medical regulatory college standards.
